Cigna Profits Hit $1.2 Billion on New Health Plan Customers and Evernorth Growth

Cigna posted nearly $1.2 billion in quarterly profits on the back of increased commercial health plan enrollment and continued growth in the company’s Evernorth health services business.

Evernorth, which includes the pharmacy benefits management company that Cigna bought with its acquisition of Express Scripts in 2018, helped boost the company’s total first-quarter revenue by more than 7% to $44 billion. dollars, up from $40.9 billion a year ago, the company said in its earnings report on Friday.
