CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Dean Haaland of Perry and Pat Ramaekers of Omaha were the first inductees into the United Life Insurance Company Legend’s Hall of Fame in ceremonies held this week at the company’s headquarters here.
The recognition celebrates agents who excel, both professionally and in the service of others, according to United Life President Brad Rosenblatt.
“The United Life Legends Hall of Fame honors selected finance professionals who are true leaders in our industry and in their communities,” Rosenblatt said. “Pat and Dean are two of the most beloved, respected and talented financial advisors in our field. They have each helped thousands of clients plan for a secure retirement and protect their loved ones. We so appreciate their decades of customer service and longstanding friendship with everyone at United Life.
Haaland was the former owner of Haaland Financial Services in Perry. Before retiring in 2021, he was frequently recognized as one of the top producers of annuities and monthly life insurance. Haaland was honored as United Life’s 2013 Agent of the Year and Wealth Management Associates consistently achieved No.1 club status.
Over his long career, Haaland has underwritten more than $30 million in life insurance and annuities, including 359 policies currently in force with United Life, Rosenblatt noted. He served two terms on the United Life Agent Technical Advisory Council and has also been involved in the Perry community as Vice President and President of the Chamber of Commerce and President of the Perry Rotary Club.
“I was in shock when it was announced that I had been selected for the Legends Hall of Fame,” Haaland said. “It is a great honor and I am deeply honored to be recognized in this way. I have done business with United Life for 29 years and have developed lasting friendships with the people there. I will cherish this honor and thank United Life from the bottom of my heart.
Ramaekers is the CEO of PJ Ramaekers & Associates and has been affiliated with United Life for 38 years and has nearly 4,000 active United Life policies. It has achieved No.1 Club and Chairman’s Club status every year and was United Life’s Agent of the Year in 1994, 2008 and 2015.
