Rural insurer FMG has announced that Adam Heath will be its new chief executive, who will take office on December 20, 2021.

Adam is currently Executive Managing Director, Insurance Solutions at Suncorp New Zealand and is responsible for its general insurance portfolios under the Vero brand.

“With a solid background in life insurance, banking and telecommunications, we are delighted to have found someone of Adam’s caliber,” said Tony Cleland, Chairman of the Board of administration of FMG.

“In addition, Adam is a leader who empowers those around him, shares the values of FMG and has empathy for the mutualist model and the rural sector. We know that Adam will be a perfect fit for FMG and that he will competently lead the organization throughout its next chapter, ”said Mr. Cleland.

Accepting the role, Adam says he has long admired FMG from the outside as an iconic New Zealand and rural brand.

“I can’t wait to join FMG and be a part of Mutual’s long and proud history of supporting rural communities,” said Adam Heath, new CEO of FMG.

“It’s already a very successful and well-managed organization and what impresses me is that it is not resting on its laurels in this regard. It has an ambitious growth strategy and wishes to improve further to support its clients and members in an increasingly digital world.

“FMG also strives to be world class in terms of employee engagement, which I find both ambitious and inspiring,” says Mr. Heath.

“I really look forward to meeting our teams and clients across the country and learning more about what it means to be a part of this organization, as we shape the next exciting path forward. “

“I would also like to acknowledge the time I have spent over the past eight years at Suncorp New Zealand where I have had the pleasure and privilege of working with a fantastic team of professionals committed to being there for clients in the moments that matter. I know the business is in good hands and I wish the Suncorp team every success for the future, ”said Mr. Heath.
