As Hilton Head is once again inundated with tourists, there’s a new incentive for a cluster of restaurants on the island. Free employer-provided health insurance is now a reality for workers at Richardson Group restaurants, which include Fish and Local Pie in Bluffton and Hilton Head. Health care plans are available to any team member working at least 30 hours per week. “If they are healthy and they come to work, it benefits us. And if we can provide them with long-term employment, that also benefits us. But at the end of the day, it’s their health,” says Richardson Group Partner Lee Lucier. Lucier hopes the incentive will attract new workers amid the current labor shortage. “If it can help us get more, we will absolutely take them. But we hope other people will see what we are doing, and we can help the Lowcountry and help the employees and our neighbors,” adds Lucier. Fish and Local Pie is hiring for all positions.
