GRAND RAPIDS – Praveen Thadani, veteran health insurance executive with 25 years of industry experience, becomes Priority Healththe new president early next month.
Thadani joins Priority Health in Grand Rapids after working at Humana Inc. in Chicago, where he worked for seven years as president of the Illinois market and led strategic planning across multiple lines of business as a vice -Senior president of strategy, products and innovation.

He succeeds Joan Budden, who retires on December 31 after 12 years with Priority Health, the last five of which as CEO.

Thandani considers her work experience to be a “really perfect fit” with Priority Health.

Prior to Humana, Thadani held leadership roles for 12 years with national healthcare carrier UnitedHealth Group Inc. and its manager of pharmacy benefits, Optum. He has worked in public health and counseling.
Priority Health’s parent company, Spectrum Health, selected Thadani after a nationwide search for a new president. Rockford, Illinois-based executive search firm Furst Group was involved in the search.
