Martindale-Hubbell® Client Review Ratings ™ displays reviews submitted by people who have hired or consulted with lawyers or law firms.
The customer review scoring score is determined by the aggregation of validated responses. People submitting opinions are either people who have consulted the lawyer / law firm or who have hired the lawyer / law firm and wish to share their experience of that lawyer or law firm. ‘lawyers with other potential clients. Martindale-Hubbell® peer reviews have been the gold standard in lawyer review for over a century. These ratings indicate lawyers who are widely respected by their peers for their ethical standards and legal expertise in a specific area of ​​practice.
The Martindale-Hubbell peer review process is the gold standard because of its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer review include both those selected by the lawyer being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All appraisers are verified as lawyers through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive lawyer database. Only lawyers who have been practicing for at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of notices from unaffiliated lawyers are eligible to receive a Note.
What are the different peer reviews of Martindale-Hubbell?*
• AV Prééminent®: The highest peer review standard. This rating means that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.
• Distinct: An excellent mark for a lawyer with some experience. This rating indicates that the lawyer is widely respected by his peers for his high professional achievements and ethical standards.

Lawyers who received peer reviews after 2009 will post more detailed information, including practice areas, summary notes, detailed numeric scores, and written comments (if applicable). Details of individual notices received before 2009 are not displayed.
Lawyers who receive opinions from their peers, but not in sufficient numbers to establish a Martindale-Hubbell peer review, will see those opinions posted on our websites.
