North Bergen began immunizing youth ages 12 and older when eligibility widened in May.

North Bergen continues to make progress against the pandemic as more residents get vaccinated. As of June 4, 51% of township residents were fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Another 12 percent received a single dose, bringing the total to 63 percent of adult residents who received at least one dose. In comparison, 44% of residents were fully immunized by mid-May.

Due to the vaccinations, things are finally starting to return to normal, according to the municipality.

Vaccines are administered at the North Bergen Recreation Center, 6300 Meadowview Avenue. To register for ages 12 to 17, dial 201-392-2084. Adults can register 24/7 at northbergenburgvaccine.org.

Anyone 18 years of age or older who lives, works, or attends school in North Bergen is eligible to receive the Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccine free of charge. Those aged 12 to 17 will receive the Pfizer vaccine and must be accompanied by an adult and have the consent of a parent or guardian.

The municipality offers the Pfizer vaccine to anyone aged 12 and over every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and every Monday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hackensack Meridian Palisades Medical Center.

The service is free, without an appointment, without health insurance and any identity document is accepted.
